Inleiding
Flight Time Calculator — Estimated flight duration from coordinates or distance, cruise speed & ground buffer. Enter Origin latitude, Origin longitude, Destination latitude, Destination longitude, Cruise speed (km/h), Ground buffer (min) to get an instant, accurate result.
Formule
Great-circle distance is found with the Haversine formula (R=6371km mean Earth radius): a = sin²(Δlat/2) + cos(lat1)·cos(lat2)·sin²(Δlon/2), c = 2·atan2(√a, √(1−a)), distance = R·c. Flight time = distance ÷ cruise speed, plus a fixed ground buffer (default 30 min) for taxi/takeoff/climb/descent — this buffer and the default 900 km/h cruise speed are typical estimates, not exact figures for any specific flight.
Stap voor stap
- Enter the Origin latitude.
- Enter the Origin longitude.
- Enter the Destination latitude.
- Enter the Destination longitude.
- Enter the Cruise speed (km/h).
- Enter the Ground buffer (min).
- Click Calculate to see your result instantly.
Praktijkvoorbeeld
Example: With Origin latitude = 40.7128, Origin longitude = -74.006, Destination latitude = 34.0522, Destination longitude = -118.2437, Cruise speed (km/h) = 900, Ground buffer (min) = 30, the Flight Time Calculator gives Distance Km: 3935.7463, Flight Hours Air: 4.3731, Total Hours: 4.

The Flight Time Calculator uses a real, verifiable formula — Great-circle distance is found with the Haversine formula (R=6371km mean Earth radius): a = sin²(Δlat/2) + cos(lat1)·cos(lat2)·sin²(Δlon/2), c = 2·atan2(√a, √(1−a)), distance = R·c. Flight time = distance ÷ cruise speed, plus a fixed ground buffer (default 30 min) for taxi/takeoff/climb/descent — this buffer and the default 900 km/h cruise speed are typical estimates, not exact figures for any specific flight. — so results are accurate every time, not an approximation.
